The Moth Effect is coming to Amazon July 30

Bondi Hipsters co-creator Nick Boshier and Tonightly’s Jazz Twemlow have joined forces with Bunya Entertainment and Amazon Studios to create The Moth Effect.

This hilarious sketch comedy will launch exclusively on Prime Video in Australia on July 30 2021 and stream one episode per month to Australia and select countries around the world, premiering globally later in 2021.

Creators Nick Boshier (Bondi Hipsters, Soul Mates, Beached Az, Trent From Punchy) and Jazz Twemlow (Tonightly, The Roast), the ingenious minds behind Nice Shorts are bringing a new kind of satirical comedy to 2021, going broader, bigger and funnier than ever before with a sketch show that goes above the news cycle.  This experimental monthly show condenses current meaty issues, zeitgeisty vibes, and cultural catastrophes into quality, high production-value universal comedy.

Together with some of Australia and New Zealand’s finest talent including Bryan Brown, Miranda Otto, David Wenham, Ben Lawson, Jonny Brugh, Peter O’Brien, Kate Box, Sam Cotton, Megan Wilding, Christiaan van Vuuren, Sarah Bishop, Nazeem Hussain, David Woodhead and Zoë Coombs Marr, The Moth Effect is set to deliver the finest sketch comedy for Amazon Prime members.

The Moth Effect is one of several new Amazon Original series coming to Prime Video including BurningHead Above WaterWarriors On The FieldClass of ‘07, Deadloch, and The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart.

The series was written by Nick Boshier and Jazz Twemlow with a team of contributing writers including Sarah Bishop, Bridie Connell, Mark Humphries, Nadeem Hussain, Natesha Somasundaram, David Woodhead and Meg O’Connell & Ramsay David Nuthall.

Directed by Craig Anderson (Double the Fist, Review with Myles Barlow, Laid, Black Comedy) and Gracie Otto (Under the Volcano, The Other Guy, Bump) The Moth Effect pokes fun at social movements, parodies the worlds of breakfast and reality TV, the Aussie way of life, and much more, all with sheer comedic flair.
