Following its world premiere at the prestigious Berlin Film Festival last month, High Grounds official Australian cinema release is now confirmed for July 9th.

Director/Producer Stephen Maxwell Johnson (Yolngu Boy) teamed up with Bunya Productions Producers David Jowsey and Greer Simpkin (Sweet Country & Mystery Road), Witivana Marika (founding member of Yothu Yindi) and Maggie Miles (Paper Planes) in the making of this film.  The film which was inspired by a true story depicts events that lead to a tragic massacre of almost everyone in a peaceful indigenous tribe in 1919. Shot on location in Kakadu Park and Arnhem Land in Australia’s Northern Territory.
